Friday, October 21 — Psalm 119:49-56
2 Samuel 13:1–33; John 8:31–41

The Lord has sent me to provide for those who mourn in Zion—to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. Isaiah 61:1,3

The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly, bring out a robe—the best one—and put it on him.’ Luke 15:21-22

Merciful Lord, supply us with your grace sufficient for our needs today. As we receive your bounty, show us how to extend your grace to everyone under all circumstances. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
