Saturday, September 24 — Psalm 109:8-20
1 Samuel 14:41–15:23; John 2:12–25

I will punish the people who rest complacently on their dregs, those who say in their hearts, ‘The Lord will not do good, nor will he do harm.’ Zephaniah 1:12

You say, ‘I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing.’ You do not realize that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. Therefore I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich; and white robes to clothe you and to keep the shame of your nakedness from being seen; and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. Revelation 3:17-18

God of forgiveness, when we miss the mark, your love makes room for our error. Because of your great compassion, we can keep trying, striving to live into your will. May we find new ways to do so today. Amen.
