Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the week — The steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him. Psalm 103:17

Sunday, August 21† — Isaiah 58:9b-14; Psalm 103:1-8
Hebrews 12:18-29; Luke 13:10-17

Do not delay me, since the Lord has made my journey successful. Genesis 24:56

As they were going along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water! What is to prevent me from being baptized?” Acts 8:36

Lamb of God, we come together as a community of believers from many different paths in life. Free us from the constraints that delay decisions for you, and the obstacles which delay service in your name. Speed us on our way to bring light and hope to every land and race. Amen.

† On this day in 1732, the first missionaries departed from Herrnhut bound for St. Thomas.
