Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the Week — Keep awake therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour. Matthew 25:13

Sunday, November 9 — Amos 5:18-24; Psalm 70
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 25:1-13

One does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. Deuteronomy 8:3

Jesus said, “Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.” John 6:27

Gracious God, while our bodies crave the nourishment of your bountiful harvest, our souls long for your life-giving love. We know we need both to live today; but only your grace will help us to live forever. As we work to feed those for whom daily bread is a struggle, help us lead them to your spiritual table. Amen.
