Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Watchword for the Week — Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits. Psalm 103:2

Sunday, September 14 — Genesis 50:15-21; Psalm 103:(1-7),8-13
Romans 14:1-12; Matthew 18:21-35

Do not trust in these deceptive words: “This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.” Amend your ways and your doings. Jeremiah 7:4-5

The whole law is summed up in a single commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:14

Lord, your command to us seems so simple, and yet it can be so hard to follow through. Help us to see ourselves and you in each other, so we might extend the love that we have for ourselves to all those around us. Amen.
