I know that the Lord maintains the cause of the needy, and executes justice for the poor. Psalm 140:12
Has not God chosen the poor in the world to be rich in faith and to be heirs of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him? James 2:5
Lord, your love of all, especially the poor in both treasure and spirit, provides the shining example upon which we must build our lives. Help us to follow your example, bringing comfort and justice to those who need it most. Amen.
