Tuesday, October 27 — Psalm 119:97–104
2 Samuel 18:31–19:30; John 10:11–21

How can a man be in the right before God? If one wished to dispute with him, he could not answer him once in a thousand times. Job 9:2,3 NASB

The scribe said to Jesus, “You are right, Teacher; you have truly said that ‘he is one, and besides him there is no other’; and ‘to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength,’ and ‘to love one’s neighbor as oneself,’—this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” When Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” Mark 12:32-34

God of creation—all-knowing God—we face trials and days when things don’t go the way we want. Help us to know that you are still by our side. You rule the world and know what the future holds for us. We lift our praise to you for being with us during the rough times when we can’t see what our future holds. Amen.
