The Moravian Team for Racial, Cultural and Ethnic Reconciliation is hosting a book study of Jemar Tisby’s book, “How to Fight Racism: Courageous Christianity and the Journey Toward Racial Justice” and we would like to invite you to participate.

As part of the synod call to engage congregations in the work of racial healing, we want to offer this book and study as a tool for your ministry. This book can be used as a starting place to create more space for conversations around race and justice in your congregation.

The book study will be co-led by Betsy Bombick and Rebecca Craver with Zoom gathering on Thursday, August 3, 17, and 31 at 2pm. Sessions will be recorded but participation in the conversations is encouraged!

By participating in this book study you will:

  • Connect with other leaders to share ideas for creating space for conversations in your local context around racial healing.
  • Share how the MTR can more effectively support you in implementing actions steps in accordance with the statement on Racism enacted at the 1998 Synod of the MCSP and the 2018 and 2023 Provincial Synods.
  • Receive the content and questions of the study as a model for offering a book study with members of your congregation in your faith formation for the upcoming program year.

We hope that you will join us in going deeper in the work of racial healing and justice.
