Monday, February 9 — Psalm 22:1–8
Genesis 38; Matthew 13:36–46

When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. Leviticus 19:33 NIV

Jesus said, “You are my friends if you do what I command you.” John 15:14

Comforting Jesus, inspire us to listen to the “other voices” of the immigrants among us. Help us to not look over them but instead look into their eyes and hear their stories. May what we hear remind us of our own immigrant roots and may we see them as friend-travelers, not enemies. Amen.
