Tuesday, October 8, 2024 — Psalm 118:1–9
1 Samuel 30,31; John 6:25–42

Now, therefore, revere the Lord and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods and serve the Lord. Joshua 24:14

Formerly, when you did not know God, you were enslaved to beings that by nature are not gods. Now, however, that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental principles? How can you want to be enslaved to them again? Galatians 4:8-9

God, our leader, we stand ready to serve you. We turn away from the things that distract us or frighten us, and impede your mission. May our hearts be focused on you alone. Amen.
