Good Friday

Good Friday — For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. John 3:16

Friday, March 29, 2024 — Psalm 41
Exodus 35; Matthew 27:1–10

Jacob called the place where God had spoken with him Bethel. Genesis 35:15

Now when the centurion and those with him, who were keeping watch over Jesus, saw the earthquake and what took place, they were terrified and said, “Truly this man was God’s Son!” Matthew 27:54

O crucified Lord, as we gaze upon the cross this day, may we not be too tempted to see it as a place of defeat, but as the place in human history where God’s love and power triumphed. May we add our voices to the confession of faith of the centurion, “Truly this man was God’s son.” Amen.
