Easter Sunday
Watchword for the week — So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1
Sunday, April 9 — Acts 10:34-43; Psalm 118:1-2,14-24
Colossians 3:1-4; John 20:1-18
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the Lord sustains me. Psalm 3:5
After Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. She went out and told those who had been with him, while they were mourning and weeping. Mark 16:9-10
Refreshed by sleep, help us rise to live a new day. With eyes that see more clearly in morning’s light, help us, Lord, to recognize Christ alive among us, bringing us hope and purpose. May we, like Mary, tell those still weary with night’s mourning, “Christ is risen! Alleluia.” Amen.
