David said to the Lord, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. But now, O Lord, I pray you, take away the guilt of your servant.” 2 Samuel 24:10
If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
O Lamb of God, we are an imperfect people. All have sinned and fallen short of your will. Forgive us when we have strayed: for the evil we have done and good we have left undone. Cleanse us of our sin and renew us by your love. Amen.
