Second Sunday after the Epiphany

Watchword for the week — How weighty to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Psalm 139:17

Sunday, January 17 — 1 Samuel 3:1-10,(11-20); Psalm 139:1-6,13-18
1 Corinthians 6:12-20; John 1:43-51

Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10

As servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything. 2 Corinthians 6:4,10

God, the many stages of life can bring many uncertainties. Through disappointment, grief, and need, you are a constant and affirming presence. Thank you for always being with us. Help us to remember that you are always there. In the holy name of Jesus. Amen.
