Emerging Congregations

The Table, a fresh expression of Moravian ministry in the Triangle Area, seeks to welcome those who for a variety of reasons have been disconnected from/wounded by the Church. We create a space where all are welcome at all tables  -– especially, the Lord’s Table. The Table exists as a fellowship whose intention is on forming meaningful and nourishing relationships with God, with one another, with our neighbors, and with friends who we have not yet met as we seek to grow in love and service to our Lord Jesus Christ. All are welcome always and in all ways. Click here to learn more.

In a world that constantly tells people who are living on the margins that they don’t belong, The Dwelling is a church that tells them that the world has it all wrong. The Dwelling proclaims boldly that there is holiness in the identity as someone experiencing homelessness, that they share a kinship with God who reminds us all that we are all wanderers in search of belonging. The Dwelling is a fully federated Mission Community of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Moravian Church in America. Click here to learn more.

The Southern Province of the Moravian Church in America shares full communion relationships with four ecumenical partners: the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the Episcopal Church, the United Methodist Church, and the Presbyterian Church (USA). Churches in full communion do not need to agree on every doctrinal point, but are understood to have enough in common to worship together. In practice, this means that members of both denominations can participate in the same sacraments, and clergy of one denomination can serve a congregation of the other denomination.
