Give Thanks for Beth Hayes’ Ministry: Support Faith Formation Leaders of the Future

In July we will be celebrating the retirement of Beth Hayes, who served the Southern Province since 1985 as the Resource Center Director for the Board of Christian Education. In those 38 years she created a robust lending library supporting congregational and children’s ministries with resources and curriculum. Beth’s inspiring ministry has impacted every congregation in our community at some point during her leadership.

In honor of her faithful service, we invite you to make a charitable gift to the Beth Hayes Fund to support our leaders in developing their capacity and education. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support leaders in their training and faith formation. Every gift made by July 1, 2020, will be matched by an anonymous donor (up to $5,000).

Beth’s inspiring ministry, reputation for forward thinking, and her strong alignment with Moravian theology and practice has been recognized not only in our community, but also through partnerships she established with the Presbyterian Church in American, the Association of Partners in Christian Ministry (APCE), and Christian educators. In fact, the Beth Hayes Fund was originally established in 2016 when Beth was honored as the Educator of the Year by APCE.

Join us in making a gift to the Beth Hayes Fund today to recognize Beth’s lifetime commitment to faith formation and our shared ministry in the Southern Province. We can think of better way to celebrate her retirement than to invest further in leadership faith formation.

You can make your gift by:

  • Mail to 459 S. Church St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 (Check payable to: Commission on Congregational Development, write Beth Hayes Fund in the memo line)
  • Online Giving: Link to Give

Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.

In Peace,

Rev. Rebecca Craver

Director of Congregational Development

P.S. In July we will notify Beth of those who made a gift to support the fund in her honor, and the total raised. The amount donated by each person, however, will not be disclosed.
