Jo Beth Boyles from Bethabara Moravian Church shares these pictures and reflections.
In my first night in Haiti I thought I was dreaming of the Sunrise service. Later I found out that it was church choirs across the destruction singing at sunrise antiphonally and coming together and praying. The night I worked in the tent hosptial I was prayed for by this amazing group.
We are called to serve and serving means action. We were to build a wheelchair ramp for a man but he had died the week before we went to Mission Camp. His wife did not need a ramp but asked for a dog fence. She was so happy and at the end she shared that her widowed mother could now come and stay and the dogs would be safe. Two widows would not be alone.
Lessons learned: Do not get to caught up in the details. God is in control. We as Christians are witnesses to each other as well as the world.
