The Board of World Mission, together with the staff of our Moravian camping ministries, recently invited volunteers to join us at Mt. Morris Camp & Retreat Center and Hope Conference & Renewal Center to enjoy fun and fellowship while doing needed maintenance and preparation before summer programming.

Thank you, volunteers!! The big project we completed was power washing and staining all of the cabins — they look beautiful! We also cleared overgrowth in front of the cabins and turned it into wood chips, which were spread in the labyrinth. Remaining wood was hauled to the workshop to be chopped and dried for firewood. We worked hard, but we also had a lot of fun together. We are already excited to see what projects are in store for us at service camp 2024!

Our amazing volunteers did a tremendous amount of work to prepare Hope Conference and Renewal Center for summer camps! We removed old shingles on the pavilion, repaired roof decking and trusses on the pavilion that had deteriorated, installed a new roof on the pavilion, painted the exterior porch of the Dining Hall, made new racks for the bows and arrows as well as the life vests, cleaned and organized the recreation equipment hut, hauled lots of rubbish to the dumpsters… and had a lot of fun doing it!
