Relationships Provide Fronting of Groceries for Hurricane Victims

Through sustained relationships in Honduras, BWM representative, Rick Nelson, was able to provide food and groceries immediately to the Moravian community in Ahuas.

A message from Brother Rick Nelson:

“Less than an hour ago, I spoke with José Smith, Guides Flores, and Evenor Manzanares — all members of the Mission Province Provincial Board. I had agreed in an earlier phone conversation with José that they should call me from one of the merchants in town. They called from Ariel’s store and had me speak with him. Ariel (who earlier this year made it possible for me to get out of Ahuas amid travel restrictions) agreed to advance the Moravian Brothers L50,000 in groceries so that they could provide for the growing number of people who have sought refuge in Ahuas as Lota again threatens the coastal and other low lying communities. Ariel will be paid once the money is available to him in Ahuas — probably after Lota is finished.

Again, Guides, Evenor, and José, in the midst of the impending disaster, told me that they were praying for us in North America as we deal with COVID.”
